- During the 6th grade of elementary school, Dahyun did an eagle dance whose video went viral in South Korea and brought her into the spotlight.
- She was scouted by JYP Entertainment when she was in middle school and performed a solo at a youth dance festival.
- She auditioned for SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and YG Entertainment at the same time and was selected by all the 3 agencies. However, she finally chose to train with JYP Entertainment.
