- In 2014, he got involved in a controversy following a series of malicious Twitter comments in the wake of the s*xual assault allegations thrown against , whom he had defended against the charges at the time.
- On March 7, 2017, he was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor assault but filed a plea of not guilty. It happened after an altercation with a valet that took place at John Glenn Columbus International Airport showed Love grabbing the valet behind the neck in the baggage claim area and throwing him onto the ground and a desk.
