    Frederik started his primary education at the prestigious Krebs School in 1974. After leaving in 1981, he studied at the School of Rocks (École des Roches) in France from 1982 to 1983. He attended high school at the Øregård Gymnasium in Copenhagen and graduated in 1986.

    He received his master’s degree in Political Science from Aarhus University in 1995; his course included studying at Harvard University for a year (1992-1993).

    1. He has a keen interest in scientific research and has co-authored the 2009 book, Polartokt Kongelig (Polar Cruise Royal) which focuses on the challenges of climate change.
    2. Apart from speaking Danish, Frederik is also fluent in German, French, and English.
    3. One of his favorite hobbies is sailing. He has competed in numerous sailing competitions around Europe.
    4. In 2013, Frederik became the first royal member to complete the KMD Ironman Copenhagen triathlon and reached the finish line in 10 hours, 45 minutes and 32 seconds.
    5. He was elected as a special observer in the National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark in October 2009. After completing his first term in 2017, he extended his term for another 8 years.
    6. In January 2026, Frederik acceded to the Danish throne and became the king of Denmark after his mother Margrethe abdicated the throne.
