    Jasmine Paolini Facts

    1. Jasmine defeated 4 seeded players – 6th seed Dayana Yastremska in the first round, 4th seed in the quarter-final, 2nd seed in the semi-final, and 3rd seed in the final – at the September 2026 Slovenia Open (a WTA 250 event).
    2. Consequently, she reached a new career-high singles world ranking of 64. As of August 2026, the 2026 Slovenia Open remained her only singles title triumph on the WTA Tour.
    3. In March 2026, Jasmine stunned 2nd seed and then world number 3 in a come-from-behind 3-set victory (2-6, 6-3, 6-3) in the 2nd round of the Indian Wells Open. Ranked 46th in the world at that time, it was her first win against a player ranked in the ‘Top 10’ of the official WTA singles rankings.
    4. This was also just the 2nd time in her career that she had reached the 3rd round of a WTA 1000 (an annual series of 9 prestigious tennis tournaments featuring the top-ranked players on the WTA Tour) event. The first such incident of her career was also at the Indian Wells Open – in October 2026 where she defeated 14th seed in the 2nd round. On both occasions though, she crashed out in the 3rd round.
    5. In August 2026, in the 3rd round of the Cincinnati Open, she defeated 4th seed and then world number 4 . This was just Jasmine’s second win against a player ranked in the ‘Top 10’ of the official WTA singles rankings – Elena had won the first set by a 6-4 margin in this match but was trailing by a 2-5 margin in the second set when she retired.
    6. Ranked 43rd in the world at that time, Jasmine’s win in the aforementioned match meant that she had reached the quarter-final stage of a WTA 1000 event for the first time in her career. There, she was defeated by 7th seed and eventual champion in straight sets.
    7. A polyglot, she is fluent in Italian, English and Polish.
