- He began his career in the entertainment industry in 1993, after joining Streetboys.
- In 1996, he made his debut featured film appearance as Nestor in Istokwa.
- Initially, he had joined It’s Showtime, as a judge in 2012, later, he became the host of the show.
- On May 9, 2016, Jhong was elected as a member of the Makati City Council under the ticket of Mayor Abi Binay.
- In 2019, a video clip of raising her voice at Jhong Hilario during It’s Showtime went viral over the internet. Jhong, in turn, reacted hilariously to her comment.
