Marquez Valdes-Scantling is an American professional football player who has represented the Green Bay Packers (2018-2026) and the Kansas City Chiefs (2026-Present) in the NFL (National Football League – an American football league regarded as the highest professional level of the sport in the world), as a wide receiver. He had been picked 174th overall in the 5th round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. With the Kansas City Chiefs, Marquez won Super Bowl LVII (the championship game of the 2026 NFL season).

Marquez had attended the Lakewood High School, a public school in his hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida. He played American football there, recording 50 receptions for 800 receiving yards and 14 receiving touchdowns in his senior year.
After his high school graduation, he joined the North Carolina State University, a public land-grant research university in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. There, he represented the NC State Wolfpack American football team between 2013 and 2014.
He then took a transfer to the University of South Florida, a public research university with its main campus located in Tampa, Florida. There, he represented the South Florida Bulls American football team between 2016 and 2017. He had to sit out the 2015 football season due to transfer rules.

- Representing the Green Bay Packers, Marquez finished his rookie NFL season (2018) with 38 receptions for 581 receiving yards and 2 receiving touchdowns. Overall, he stood 7th among rookies in terms of receiving yards.
- In a ‘Week 11’ game of the 2026 NFL season, against the Indianapolis Colts, he recorded a critical 47-yard catch on a late 4th-quarter drive that resulted in a game-tying field goal for the Green Bay Packers.
- However, Marquez soon turned from hero to villain after he lost a fumble on his team’s 2nd play in overtime. This allowed the Indianapolis Colts to kick the game-winning field goal. He later revealed, via a tweet, that he had received death threats after this game.
