- His mother suffers from multiple sclerosis and Oritsé has cared for her since the age of 12 years.

- In 2008, he participated in the 5th series of X Factor along with his bandmates from JLS. Although the season was won by , JLS ended up as runners-up of that year.
- In September 2018, he was accused of ra*ing a 20-year-old fan after a concert in Wolverhampton in December 2016. Oritsé denied the accusation and he was eventually acquitted of all charges by a jury in May 2019.
- In 2013, he competed in the dance competition show Stepping Out with his then-girlfriend, Aimee Jade Azari. The duo faced and his wife in the final round of the competition and were declared the winners on September 28, 2013.
- Oritsé founded the boy band named UFO with himself, Marvin Humes, Aston Merrygold, and in 2007. The band later changed its name to JLS (Jack the Lad Swing) since a rock band named UFO already existed at that time.
