Rahul Chaudhari is an Indian professional kabaddi player who is widely acknowledged as one of the finest kabaddi players of his generation and one of the best raiders in the sport. Representing India, he clinched the ‘Gold’ medal at the 2016 Ahmedabad Kabaddi World Cup, the 2017 Gorgan Asian Kabaddi Championship, the 2018 Dubai Kabaddi Masters, and the 2016 Guwahati & Shillong South Asian Games. He also secured the ‘Bronze’ medal at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games.

- Rahul was inspired to pursue a career as a kabaddi player by his older brother Rohit who used to play as a raider for their village kabaddi team.
- Initially, his parents were against his decision to pursue a career in kabaddi and wanted him to study well so that he could earn a steady livelihood. Rahul, however, continued to train and practice the sport.
- His fortunes changed when he was scouted at a village trial match and was invited to train at a facility in the state of Gujarat under the auspices of the Sports Authority of India, the apex national sports body of India, established by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India.
- Rahul had started his career in kabaddi as a defender but over the course of time, transformed himself into a full-fledged raider.
- Impressed by his performances over the next few years, he was offered a position in the Indian Army but did not take up the offer, stating that he still needed more time to hone his skills. He later represented Air India (the flag carrier airline of India) at the Industrial National Championships.
- In the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), a men’s professional kabaddi league in India that was launched in 2014, he has represented Telugu Titans (2014-2018), Tamil Thalaivas (2019), Puneri Paltan (2026-22), and Jaipur Pink Panthers (2026). In the league, he holds the distinction of being the first player to breach the milestone of 500 (achieved in July 2017), 700 (October 2018), and 800 (November 2018) raid points.
- As of August 2026, in the PKL, with his peak years already behind him, he was still 4th overall in terms of ‘total points’ (1,027 in 129 matches), 5th overall in terms of ‘raid points’ (968), joint 2nd overall in terms of ‘successful raids’ (798), 9th overall in terms of ‘average raid points per match’ (7.5), 5th overall in terms of ‘super raids’ (24), and 2nd overall in terms of ‘do-or-die raid points’ (24).
- In parallel with his proficient career in kabaddi, he has also served as a member of the income tax department, as an inspector, in Delhi.
