    Rose Lavelle Facts

    1. Before fame, she played competitive soccer in her hometown in Cincinnati with the Lakota United Soccer Club and later with the Cincinnati United Premier Soccer Club.
    2. While in high school, she played on the girl’s varsity soccer team for 4 years. In her senior year, she was named “Cincinnati’s Player of the Year” by the Cincinnati Enquirer. Around the same time, she scored 15 goals equivalent to 38 points for her team and was named NSCAA All-Region as a junior and senior and received first-team all-state honors. In 2013, she was awarded the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Sports Women of the Year and played club soccer for the Cincinnati United Premier team on the U-14 premier league for five years before going to college.
    3. While attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she played as a Badger, she was added to the roster for the United States Women’s National Soccer Team in 2015. Shortly after she was accepted to the university in 2013, she then began as a starting player for her first 19 matches in the Big Ten Conference. Following an impressive performance, she was named “Freshman of the Year” and led her team with 73 shorts with her 6 goals ranked 2nd on the team.
    4. On January 12, 2017, she was selected by the Boston Breakers as the number one overall draft pick at the 2017 NWSL College Draft. She made a solid start in her professional career after scoring 2 goals in 8 games and was later named “Player of the Month” for the month of April. Though her career debut was impressive, she missed 2 months of playing due to an injury in June and finished the season with only 10 appearances with the team.
    5. On March 4, 2017, she earned her first senior international cap in a match against England at the 2017 SheBelieves Cup. Lavelle was named “Player of the Match” following the team’s 1-0 defeat.
    6. In 2018, a dispersal draft was conducted by the NWSL to distribute players from the Breakers across the league. Lavelle was first on the list as the overall pick by Washington Spirit which got the shot to acquire the first pick player after a trade with Sky Blue FC. Due to an injury and international obligations, she only appeared for the team in 11 games all throughout the 2018 season.
