She had clinched the ‘Bronze’ medal at the 2018 World Figure Skating Championships, the 2018 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, the Japan Figure Skating Championships (2013-14, 2018-19), the 2014 GP NHK Trophy, the 2015 GP Skate America championship, and the GP Skate Canada International (2014, 2016). At the team level, she had won the ‘Gold’ medal at the Japan Open (2015, 2016, 2018), the ‘Silver’ medal at the 2019 Japan Open, and the ‘Bronze’ medal at the Japan Open (2014), the 2016 Team Challenge Cup, and the 2015 ISU World Team Trophy.     1. Satoko’s parents, due to their professional commitments, had moved to Houston, Texas when she was 5 years old. The family had returned to Kyoto 2 years later, but by that time, Satoko had become fluent in the English language.
    2. The same year, 2007, she had started to get trained in figure skating, in Kyoto, under the guidance of renowned coach and former competitive figure skater Mie Hamada.
    3. She had started her senior career in 2013 after having impressed in the junior level by winning the ‘Gold’ medal at the Japan Junior Figure Skating Championships (2011-12, 2012-13), the 2012 ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) United States, and the 2012 Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy. She had also won the ‘Silver’ medal at the 2011 ISU JGP Poland, and the ‘Bronze’ medal at the 2012 ISU JGP Turkey.
    4. At the novice level too, she had won the ‘Gold’ medal at the 2010 Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy and the Japan Junior Figure Skating Championships (2007-08, 2008-09). She had also won the ‘Silver’ medal at the Triglav Trophy (2010, 2011), the International Challenge Cup (2007-08), and the Japan Junior Figure Skating Championships (2010-11).
