    Shayna Jack Facts

    1. Shayna first came into the spotlight when she won 4 medals at the 2013 (Dubai) edition of the FINA (Fédération Internationale De Natation) World Junior Swimming Championships – the ‘Gold’ medal in the 4×100 m mixed freestyle event, the ‘Silver’ medal in the 4×100 m freestyle & the 4×200 m freestyle events, and the ‘Bronze’ medal in the 100 m freestyle event.
    2. At the 2015 (Singapore) edition of the competition, she won the ‘Gold’ medal in the 4×100 m freestyle & the 4×200 m freestyle events, the ‘Silver’ medal in the 4×100 m medley & the 4×100 m mixed freestyle events, and the ‘Bronze’ medal in the 50 m freestyle event.
    3. Just a few days before the start of the World Aquatics Championships in July 2019, she had withdrawn from the event citing ‘personal reasons’. It was later revealed that she had tested positive for Ligandrol, a novel nonsteroidal oral selective androgen receptor modulator that is popular with bodybuilders.
    4. Her sample had been collected during an out-of-competition test conducted by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA). A follow-up sample further confirmed the presence of Ligandrol in her system and she was suspended by Swimming Australia, the peak governing body for competitive swimming in Australia. Shayna took to social media to proclaim innocence stating that she had never intentionally taken any banned substance.
    5. The result of further investigation by ASADA confirmed unintentional ingestion but she was still handed a 24-month suspension (that would run until mid-July 2026) by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (an international body headquartered in Switzerland that settles disputes related to sport) for the anti-doping rule violation.
    6. In 2026, during her suspension period, it was announced that Shayna would be participating in SAS Australia, a reality quasi-military training TV program.
