She was a member of the prominent Alabama political family named the Bankhead and Brockman family. - She was named after her paternal grandmother, who in turn was named after Tallulah Falls, Georgia.
- In 1944, Tallulah Bankhead co-starred as Constance “Connie” Porter in the survival film Lifeboat and this role won her the New York Film Critics Circle Award in the “Best Actress” category.
- She struggled with alcoholism and drug addiction and reportedly smoked 120 cigarettes a day.
