- His father Dara Singh pursued a career in professional wrestling before becoming an actor and ultimately settling down as a politician until his death on July 12, 2012, due to a massive heart attack.
- Vindu made his debut Hindi language film appearance as the eponymous character in the film Karan in 1997.
- He has depicted the role of a Hindu god and mythological character on more than one occasion which includes the role of Lord Hanuman in Jai Veer Hanuman and Sri Rama Rajyam as well as Bheema in Draupadi.
- Vindu’s father also played the role of Lord Hanuman in the show Ramayan.
