    1. Born in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Youssoufa was mostly raised by his grandparents. His father, who has lived in Hamburg, Germany, as a German citizen since the 1990s, took Youssoufa to Germany in the summer of 2014.
    2. His soccer career began later that year when he joined the youth system of FC St. Pauli, a German professional soccer club based in the St. Pauli district of Hamburg. He stayed there until 2016 and scored 23 goals in just 13 games for the club’s under-15 team.
    3. In July 2016, he joined the youth academy of Borussia Dortmund soon after which he was the only 13-year-old player playing in the Under 17 Bundesliga (the highest level of play in German soccer for male juniors between the ages of 15 and 17) at that time.
    4. In September 2019, he became the youngest player to have participated in the UEFA Youth League, an annual club competition organized by the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) since 2013 that is contested by the youth teams of the clubs competing in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League (the most prestigious club competition in European soccer) along with the domestic youth champions of the best-ranked national associations in Europe. The following month, he became the youngest goalscorer in the competition.
    5. After scoring 141 goals in just 88 games for Borussia Dortmund‘s under-17 and under-19 sides, he joined the club’s senior team in 2026. In November 2026, he became the youngest player in the history of the Bundesliga (the top tier of the German soccer league system) to have played a game in that competition.
    6. The following month, he became the youngest player (16 years and 18 days old) in the history of the UEFA Champions League to have played a game in that competition. In the same month, he also became the youngest goalscorer (16 years and 28 days old) in Bundesliga history.
    7. He made his debut for the German under-21 team in September 2026, scoring 2 goals in a 6-0 win over San Marino. This made him the youngest-ever player as well as the youngest-ever brace (2 goals in a match) scorer for the German under-21 team.
